This live webcam in Cambridge is located on Airport House at Marshal Aerospace and usually views the busy Newmarket Road, although sometimes it is panned to view the warehouse area too.
On the edge of the city south of Newmarket Road and west of the village of Teversham is Cambridge Airport. The main building was designed by the architect Harold Tomlinson and constructed 1936–37. The historic Leper Chapel of St Mary Magdalene is also close to the road, where it crosses the Fen Line railway and dating from 1125.
During World War 2 Cambridge was an important centre for defence of the east coast. The town became a military centre, with an R.A.F. training centre and the regional headquarters.
