The beach has unusually calm waters due to the sand dunes, and there are lots of facilities including a cricket club, yachting club, a tarka trail and boat hire plus you can visit the old signal box and the nearby Tapely Park too. This live webcam shows the view into the village and beach.
The Tarka Trail passes through Instow, providing an easy means for people to arrive by foot or on bike. This section of the Trail is also part of the South West Coast Path, offering longer walks along the coast.
Instow has a famous railway signal box, which is over 130 years old and was the UK's first Grade 2 Listed signal box. In the past It controlled the signals at Instow Station and also the operation of the level crossing and you can see it on the left on this live camera.
