Historical information about this webcam
This live webcam is from Wexford town which is the county town of County Wexford in Ireland. You can see the Wexford bridge and sometimes other interesting views when the camera is panned to view a new position.
Wexford lies on the south side of Wexford Harbour on the River Slaney. According to a local legend, the town got its Irish name, Loch Garman, from a young man named Garman Garbh who was drowned on the mudflats of the river by flood waters released by an enchantress.
Wexford is a great place to visit and is famous for its lovely sandy coastline and together with County Waterford is known as 'The Sunny South East'.
While visiting why not visit the oldest lighthouse in Europe which stands on the Hook Peninsula and enjoy a pint of Guinness in the pubs nearby.
