The Peak Bay PB-20 is good quality low cost webcam that is SKYPE compatible. It comes with separate stand and notebook clip and is easy to fit. It has a manual focus adjustable from the front by turning the front ring. Its not so good at low light performance as some of our other models so it does need a reasonably well lit target view. |
The PB 20 Webcam plugs in via the usual USB lead and the microphone is built in and transmits via the USB connection. The Picture quality is very good for such a low cost unit but the microphone could be a little more sensitive. If the PB 20 is to be used for video conferencing, Skype etc. it may be necessary to fit an additional microphone to your PC. There is a single blue LED which lights up to show when the camera is being used. The maximum picture size at 30FPS is 320 x 240. In addition to the Camsecure software CD the PB 20 also comes bundled with Arcsoft Photo Impression and Video Impression too. |
At £8.00 this is a terrific price for a 300K pixel entry level webcam. |
