Hardware Compression cards carry out
the compression of the video signals
within the hardware and firmware on the
card itself
This takes less resource from the
computer than using the software in the
PC to handle the compression
Our Hardware Compression cards for
system developers are available using
either H.264 or MPEG4 compression
methods.
Cards are also available in a variety of
interfaces.
Depending on the model of card you can
choose from standard PCI or you can
have Mini PCI and now we also have the
PCI Express (PCIE) interface.
OS support includes (32/64 bit) Windows
2000, XP, Vista, 7.0 and Linux.
SoftwareCompression cards or Live
Capture Cards carry out the compression
of the video signals within the software on
the PC
While this takes more resource from the
PC it has the advantage that the
compression method can be selected as
either H.264 or MPEG4 quite easily and
even written in as a selectable option for
the end user of the developers program.
