National Coastwatch Institute Webcam 2 From St. Ives Bay, Cornwall
The National Coastwatch Institution or NCI is a voluntary organisation
which provides a visual watch along the UK's coasts. The NCI should not
be confused with HM Coastguard.
The NCI was formed in Cornwall in 1994 after the deaths of two local
fishermen who drowned right below a recently closed Coastguard Station
at Bass Point.
This live webcam (no 2 of 3) shows one of the views from St. Ives NCI.
Following the success of the first station at Bass Point, many more
stations started to appear and now over 40 NCI coastwatch stations
operate around the coast of England and Wales.
