Swanage is located at the east end of the Isle of Purbeck just over 6 miles from Poole. Originally a small port and fishing village which flourished in the Victorian era, Swanage remains today a popular tourist resort.

Swanage NCI is one of their oldest stations which first opened in April 1995. This live Camsecure web cam from Swanage looks all around the bay and beaches either on a pre-programmed pattern or sometimes under manual control of the station watch keepers.
Fishing is the town's oldest industry although quarrying was also important to the town a since at least the 1st century AD.

The beautiful and very distinctive Purbeck marble has been used for decorative purposes in buildings since the Roman times

Among noticeable names of locals from the area is John Mowlem who became a successful and famous builder who formed the Mowlem construction company.

Camsecure live webcams are used in towns and cities, in coastal and seaside resorts to show off the splendid views and often for weather and wild life purposes too.
