Penzance Promenade Cornwall
Live webcam from Penzance Western Promenade
Get a webcam like this for your own website This is a lovely and very interesting live streaming webcam which views Penzance Promenade which stretches the seafront between the Jubilee Pool at the Eastern end and Newlyn to the West.

The camera is a moving PTZ model (pan - tilt - zoom) and is manually adjust from time to time, rather than running on automatic, so you may see different views each time you visit. The Promenade in Penzance was constructed in stages during the 1800's. The Western end where this camera is situated was finished in 1893.
During 1905 a new bandstand was built on the Promenade right opposite the Queen's Hotel, and the Pavilion Theatre was opened nearby in 1911. The hotel had many modern features of the time including a roof garden and cafe, but now the Theatre is a modern arcade and restaurant.

The seafront of Penzance Western Promenade has two children's play parks, basket ball courts, a bowling green, an arcade and a number of restaurants and cafes to choose from.

During the Tudor period, In the summer of 1578, Penzance was visited by the plague. The burial registers of Madron (where all Penzance births, deaths and marriages were recorded) shows a massive increase in deaths for the year of 1578 from 12 during the previous year up to 155.
