Cemaes Bay is on the north coast of Anglesey in Wales and is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which is partly owned by the National Trust. This is the most northerly village in Wales, apart from the nearby small hamlet called Llanbadrig.
Cemaes is a fishing port and tourist resort and its sheltered natural harbour looks north to the Irish Sea.
Since Victorian times the picture like character of Cemaes and the natural beauty of the island has attracted artists and tourists from near and far. Between the 18th and 20th century's the village was well renowned for its salted herring in addition to its bricks made at a nearby works.own to the sea. The pier was damaged badly by storms in 1828 and 1889, but on each occasion was rebuilt and improved.
