Lyneal Wharf lies on the Llangollen Canal which was part of an ambitious late 18th century plan to link the rivers Mersey and Severn, much of which was never built and the section of the canl shown on this live webcam feed has been in use since 1806.
The Shropshire Union Canal, also known as the Llangollen Canal is a stunning, 66.5-mile rural waterway stretching from Ellesmere Port to Autherley Junction near Wolverhampton. Designed by Thomas Telford and completed in 1835.
