Bedruthan opened in 1959 and the building is a classic example of the architecture of that era.
Mawgan Porth is a beach and small settlement situated north of Watergate Bay approximately four miles north of Newquay and on the Atlantic Ocean coast.
In the years 1949-52, 1954 and 1974, archaeological excavations discovered a settlement consisting of three groups of buildings plus a burial ground dating from around 850-1050.
The sandy beach at Mawgan Porth is backed by dunes with cliffs at each end and on one of these Bedruthan Hotel resides. The cliffs are quality-assessed and supervised by lifeguards during the summer.
This is a popular surfing location and all round popular beach with the South West Coast Path passing behind the beach.
